Carbon

Black Carbon is a material produced by the incomplete combustion of heavy petroleum products such as FCC tar, coal tar, ethylene cracking tar, and a small amount from vegetable oil. Carbon black is the predominant reinforcing filler used in rubber compounds. Through the addition of carbon black to the rubber compound, durability and strength are significantly improved. Improvement in rubber properties is a function of the physical and chemical characteristics of carbon black. Carbon black’s most important fundamental characteristics are aggregate size and shape (structure), particle size, surface activity, and porosity. With our in-depth expertise in the domain, we provide our customers with high quality Carbon Black. These products are produced by the incomplete combustion of various heavy petroleum products. These products are widely used for reducing thermal damage, high surface area to volume ratio and to increase the life of the tires.

USES
  • It is used as a pigment and reinforcement in rubber and plastic products.
  • It is used as a reinforcing phase in various automobile tires, pigment in inks, coatings and in laser printer toner.
  • In addition, it is also helpful in conducting the heat away from the belt and tread area of the tires.
